SUMMARY:Beginner Basics: Pottery
DESCRIPTION:Come play with clay at our Beginner’s Pottery Workshop – fun times guaranteed. \nYou will be creating two unique clay pieces using beginner friendly hand – building techniques that even you can master! You can create a mug and bowl\, trinket tray\, paint brush holder or even a small vase! No prior experience needed as our in-house ceramic artist will guide you from start to finish. \nOur studio in Myaree is BYO drinks\, so please don’t forget to bring a beverage to create with. We encourage you to pair your drink with one of our delicious grazing boxes you can select as an ‘add-on’ when booking to help you get in the creative zone. \nWhen to come? – Arrive 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start\, sharp! \nWhat to bring? – Yourself! All materials are provided! \nWhat to wear? – We provide you with an apron but recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting dirty… just in case! It is really difficult to remove from clothing. \nImportant Details: \nYour piece will be glazed and fired after the workshop is finished. The cost of this is included in the ticket price. \nThere is a wait time of 4- 6 weeks before you can collect your finished piece. This is the time it takes to dry\, glaze and fire your amazing creations. A huge amount of care is exercised when finishing off your handmade items. \nPlease note that clay is unpredictable and on rare occasions\, items break in the kiln. This is all a natural part of the fun of perfecting your craft. Listening and following instructions from our ceramic artist will ensure very minimal risk. \n*Choose your glaze out of 6 choices (White\, Oat\, Aubergine\, Denim Blue (light)\, Ink Blue (dark)\, Watermelon) \nAbout the Venue \nOur studio is located inside Hulme Court with lots of other busy businesses around. Please park anywhere in the complex and walk over as there are limited bays outside the shop front. The objectives of the lesson aren’t defined\, so it’s up to you to create a mug and bowl\, trinket tray\, paint brush holder or even a small vase using the techniques demonstrated! We’ve been teaching these classes for 10 + years\, so don’t worry if you have no painting experience – we will work our magic! \nFor this class we will be painting Cable Beach Camels – based on the lovely sunset up in Broome\, WA <3 \nWhat you need to know: \n\nWhere: The Cab Canvas Studio (2/17 Hulme Court\, Myaree)\n\n\nWhen: Saturday the 17th of February\, 2024\n\n\nTime: Arrive at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start… Sharp!\n\n\nDuration: Class will run for approximately 2—2.5 hours\n\nTickets include all required painting materials. DESCRIPTION:Terrazzo Trays is one of our favourite workshops! It’s such a fun medium to use and crushing up those terrazzo chips brings us so much joy. Choose your own colours and make your very own matching set of a trinket tray and coaster. The perfect addition to your coffee table\, or to hold your keys or jewellery! \nWhat you need to know: \n\nWhere: The Cab Canvas Studio (2/17 Hulme Court\, Myaree)\n\n\nWhen: Sunday the 18th of February\, 2024\n\n\nTime: Arrive at 1.45pm for a 2.00pm start… Sharp!\n\n\nDuration: Class will run for approximately 1.5 – 2 hours\n\nTickets include all required materials. Just show up ready to have a good time and wear something you don’t mind getting messy… just in case! \nPickup & take home element \nYou will need to leave your Terrazzo creations to harden overnight and collect the following week 9am – 5:00pm\, Monday\, Wednesday or Friday. Please note\, due to storage limitations\, we are only able to hold your work for 7 days. Please get in touch if you need to make pick up outside of these times. Your creation will be packaged up in a box for you along with some sandpaper and gloss varnish to sand and seal at home – this is where the colourful chips will be revealed! \nVenue Information \nOur beautiful studio is located in Myaree and is completely BYO so please don’t forget to bring your favourite beverages to let loose.
