SUMMARY:Beginner Basics: Pottery
DESCRIPTION:Come play with clay at our Beginner’s Pottery Workshop – fun times guaranteed. \nYou will be creating two unique clay pieces using beginner friendly hand – building techniques that even you can master! You can create a mug and bowl\, trinket tray\, paint brush holder or even a small vase! No prior experience needed as our in-house ceramic artist will guide you from start to finish. \nOur studio in Myaree is BYO drinks\, so please don’t forget to bring a beverage to create with. We encourage you to pair your drink with one of our delicious grazing boxes you can select as an ‘add-on’ when booking to help you get in the creative zone. \nWhen to come? – Arrive 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start\, sharp! \nWhat to bring? – Yourself! All materials are provided! \nWhat to wear? – We provide you with an apron but recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting dirty… just in case! It is really difficult to remove from clothing. \nImportant Details: \nYour piece will be glazed and fired after the workshop is finished. The cost of this is included in the ticket price. \nThere is a wait time of 4- 6 weeks before you can collect your finished piece. This is the time it takes to dry\, glaze and fire your amazing creations. A huge amount of care is exercised when finishing off your handmade items. \nPlease note that clay is unpredictable and on rare occasions\, items break in the kiln. This is all a natural part of the fun of perfecting your craft. Listening and following instructions from our ceramic artist will ensure very minimal risk. \n*Choose your glaze out of 6 choices (White\, Oat\, Aubergine\, Denim Blue (light)\, Ink Blue (dark)\, Watermelon) \nAbout the Venue \nOur studio is located inside Hulme Court with lots of other busy businesses around. Please park anywhere in the complex and walk over as there are limited bays outside the shop front. Choose your own colours\, make your own terrazzo chips and use a mould to create your coaster and tray. The perfect addition to your coffee table\, or to hold your keys or jewellery! \nWhat you need to know: \n\nWhere: The Cab Canvas Studio (2/17 Hulme Court\, Myaree)\n\n\nWhen: Sunday the 5th of November\, 2023\n\n\nTime: Arrive at 10.15am for a 10.30am start… Sharp!\n\n\nDuration: Class will run for approximately 1.5 – 2 hours\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nWe recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting messy … just in case!\n\n\nBYO Drinks! If you’re after some food too\, we have the most delicious grazing boxes you can select as a ‘add-on’ when booking.\n\nPickup & take home element: \nYou will need to leave your Terrazzo creations to harden overnight and collect the following week 8:30am – 5:00pm\, Monday\, Wednesday or Friday. Please note\, due to storage limitations\, we are only able to hold your work for 7 days. Please get in touch if you need to make pick up outside of these times. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Cab Canvas Studio in Myaree for a blissful afternoon learning a new hobby and creating a stunning set of floral coasters. Throughout the workshop we will teach you how to use a casting resin for the first time and go through the steps to re-create these beautiful resin coasters using dried florals—the perfect addition to your coffee table! Grab a pal and a beverage and book yourselves in for a fun afternoon outside the comfort zone. \nPlease note\, when resin is mixed it creates a chemical reaction that releases toxins. These can be harmful for pregnant woman or those with respiratory issues. Not suitable for under 18s. \nWhen to come? – Arrive 1:45pm for a 2:00pm start\, sharp! \nWhat to bring? – Yourself! All materials are provided! \nBYO Drinks! If you’re after some food too\, we have the most delicious grazing boxes you can select as a ‘add-on’ when booking. \nWhat to wear? – We provide you with an apron but recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting resin on… just in case! It is really difficult to remove from clothing. \nPlease note\, when resin is mixed it creates a chemical reaction that releases toxins.
